NEW YORK, July 4 — Taylor Swift managed to keep the biggest fashion secret of the year under wraps until after she married Travis Kelce — and no, it wasn’t a Stella McCartney gown.
Instead, the pop superstar walked down the aisle in a custom Christian Dior Haute Couture wedding dress designed by Jonathan Anderson, ending months of fan theories over who would dress her for the occasion.
According to a press release obtained by E! News, Anderson worked “in close collaboration with the Bride and Groom” on both wedding looks, with the gown marking his first couture bridal design for a world-famous celebrity.
Swift completed the look with Cartier jewellery and custom Christian Louboutin shoes, while Kelce also wore bespoke Louboutins for the ceremony at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
The couple officially tied the knot on July 3 after three years together.
Official wedding portraits have yet to be released.
That, however, has not stopped social media from doing what it does best.
Several images claiming to show the bride and groom have surfaced online, but none has been verified.
The Dior reveal is likely to delight eagle-eyed Swifties, who had been dissecting the singer’s wardrobe for months in search of bridal clues.
Many expected her to choose Stella McCartney after years of wearing the British designer’s creations, even name-checking the label in her song London Boy.
Others suspected Oscar de la Renta, Vivienne Westwood or even Monse could land the honour, thanks to Swift’s long-running relationship with those fashion houses.
Instead, Dior quietly emerged as the winner.
The choice may not have been entirely out of the blue.
In recent months, Swift had increasingly been spotted carrying Lady Dior handbags on outings in New York, including one appearance with her father Scott Swift and another date with Kelce at an NBA playoff game.
Her loyalty to Christian Louboutin, meanwhile, never really wavered.
The singer famously wore the French shoemaker throughout much of her Eras Tour and even joked about the pain that came with dancing in the iconic red-soled heels.
“I mean, dancing all night, yeah my feet ache.”
“But I’m wearing Louboutins. Like, it is a privilege for my feet to ache like this.”
For now, fans may still be waiting for the official wedding album.
But thanks to the fashion reveal, they at least know what the bride wore — even if they have yet to properly see it.
