KUALA LUMPUR, June 23 — Fans who missed out on tickets to My Chemical Romance’s long-awaited return to Malaysia are getting another chance.
Concert organiser Hello Universe today announced that a limited number of additional tickets will be released for the band’s Kuala Lumpur shows on November 19 and 20 at TM National Stadium Bukit Jalil.
The tickets will go on sale on July 3 at 11am here.
The announcement comes after organisers said more than 120,000 tickets across both nights were snapped up in just 90 minutes, underscoring the overwhelming demand for the American rock band’s first Malaysian concerts in nearly two decades.
In a social media post, the organiser reminded fans of the rapid sell-out, writing: “120,000 tickets. Two nights. 90 minutes. That’s how fast Malaysia showed up for MCR.”
It added that “a limited number of tickets are available once more”, urging fans to mark their calendars and set reminders ahead of the July 3 sale.
The concerts were originally scheduled to take place in April and May but were later postponed to November.
Organisers previously confirmed that all tickets purchased for the original dates will remain valid for the rescheduled performances.
The Malaysian shows form part of the band’s highly anticipated reunion tour and mark My Chemical Romance’s first concerts in the country since 2007, ending a wait of almost 20 years for local fans.
The additional ticket release is expected to trigger another rush when sales open next month.
