President Donald Trump drew online mockery Monday following a rambling speech at the Rose Garden Club Lunch at the White House, where he had just marked the first day of trading for Trump Accounts.
His remarks varied; the President touched on crime in Washington, D.C. and mentioned a conversation with King Charles about William the Conqueror.

Trump described alleged past restaurant robberies in vivid terms, "They used to go in and rob the restaurants. It was like the old wild west. They'd say stick em up, give me your money. The whole restaurant is handing them money."
Political commentators expressed bewilderment on social media.
HuffPost's S.V. Dáte asked on X, "Does anyone have any idea what he's talking about?"
The Atlantic's Tom Nichols wrote on X, "I literally felt a pang of embarrassment reading this."
"Wow, the self awareness here is off the charts," California Governor Newsom's press office wrote on X.
