KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit closed lower against the US dollar on Tuesday as investors remained cautious following the Bank of Japan’s (BOJ) decision to raise interest rates.
At 6pm, the local note fell to 4.0665/4.0700 versus the greenback from 4.0485/4.0525 at Monday’s close.
Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd chief economist Afzanizam Abdul Rashid said currency markets remained mixed despite declining crude oil prices.
