Trump’s collapsing right wing industry sends MAGA influencer into 'depressive spiral'
OK! Magazine reports pro-Trump influencer Jessica Reed Kraus is blaming her recent vanishing act on MAGA community rifts in the aftermath of President Donald Trump’s collapsing popularity.
“While Kraus has frequently been in the spotlight for her public feuds with other far-right influencers like Candace Owens, public details concerning a new mental health diagnosis have largely been framed around the intense personal and social burnout she faces within the MAGA and MAHA (Make America Healthy Again) political orbits,” reports OK!
MAGA news and propaganda sites have blossomed since Trump first entered U.S. politics roughly a decade ago. But their success appears to still be inextricably connected to Trump — and they’re not doing well in Trump’s declining twilight months.
The New York Sun reports news publications “built on harvesting clicks from MAGA supporters are fading as … Trump begins his final act in American politics,” and their web traffic “is falling across the board."
“The trend is lending credence to the president’s prediction that the press will miss him when he’s gone, with those who advocate for his movement hardest hit,” reports the Sun, adding that an analysis by Similarweb found that a whopping 90 percent of the top right-wing sites saw drops in visits between May 2025 and May 2026.
And OK! Reports: “writing all hours of the night in her Laguna Beach office, tracking high-profile political figures, and navigating the fracturing social terrain of the Trump administration have noticeably compounded [Kraus’] stress and anxiety levels.”
The 46-year-old influencer and lifestyle and politics blogger has cultivated a large following, but she described a difficult few weeks and a "bruised spirit."
“My absence is the result of a faltering mental state, frayed focus, and a bruised spirit. It’s been a difficult few weeks,” Kraus said, according to OK! “Stepping away was my attempt to avoid slipping into a deeper depressive spiral.”
“Logging off felt like turning off a television that had been blaring static at full blast. I’d forgotten how healing quiet can be,” she added. “When I’m in a healthier place, I’ll return to posting daily. Until then, I’ll be here more sporadically, sharing specific updates and archival highlights as we mark America’s 250th anniversary.”
OK! reports Kraus went on to admit that: “In five years, I’ve never disappeared from this space for this long. I wish I could say it was something within my control — a spontaneous summer sabbatical to realign my focus, or reinvigorate my work. But that is not the case.”
The Sun, speaking to the collapse of many right-wing sites amid Trump’s own popularity crash, reports that, “when a team is losing, fans tune out, choosing to spend time on pursuits less aggravating than endless, post-game obituaries.”
“News websites that built their audiences on Mr. Trump never made the connection that’s key to keeping people coming back regardless of who’s in the White House,” said the Sun. “As this president’s time in office ticks down, expect the decline in traffic to accelerate, and news organizations to learn the folly of making their success dependent on who wins elections.”
