Malaysian Swifties throw Taylor Swift ‘bachelorette party’ ahead of reported wedding day
KUALA LUMPUR, June 27 — Local Swifties are bringing the wedding bells to KL, with a group of Malaysian fans organising a dedicated ‘bachelorette party’ to celebrate Taylor Swift ahead of her big day.
Although the Love Story singer has kept tight-lipped about her upcoming nuptials to NFL star Travis Kelce, multiple reports indicate that the ‘wedding of the year’ will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York in July.
In conjunction with the pop star’s big day, local fan event curator Who’s Ur Party is organising another edition of its Swiftie Night, dubbed ‘The Taylor Bachelorette Party: The End of an Era’, happening on June 27 at Mexican kitchen and bar Ms Bianca in Bukit Damansara.
Fans can expect a night filled with Taylor Swift hits and massive singalongs from her debut era to her Showgirl era, featuring champagne-core aesthetics, glitter chaos, a series of bachelorette party-themed games and a best-outfit competition.
Speaking to Malay Mail, 42-year-old Hafizi Fahmi, one of the founders of Who’s Ur Party and a fellow Swiftie, said the group has been organising intimate, club-style Taylor Swift parties since last year, starting with an event celebrating Swift’s reclaiming of full ownership of her original back catalogue.
“We started last year when Taylor got (ownership) of her albums back and before doing these kinds of events, we could see like there’s a gap between the audiences.
“Because in Malaysia, there’s another group of Malaysian Swifties who would also do events but they catered more towards the general public of all ages.
“For us, we cater to Swifties who are more inclined to club or party settings,” Hafizi said.
He added that although Who’s Ur Party was formed only last year, it has hosted around four editions of its ‘Swiftie Night’ fan events in 2025 alone, including celebrations for the release of Swift’s 12th album The Life of a Showgirl as well as a special Taylor Swift versus Charli XCX night.
“Last year alone we did four or five Taylor Swift parties and I remember saying to myself like okay, that’s it, I’m done unless she comes up with another new album.
“Then came her wedding announcement and I was like okay, this is interesting and it is a really nice concept to do.
“So the ‘bachelorette party’ was the idea – it’s not just for people who want to celebrate Swift’s wedding but also for those who never had a bachelorette party or missed their last one or if you just simply want to enjoy a bachelorette party,” he said.
Hafizi, who has been hosting these ‘Swiftie Night’ events not only in KL but also in Thailand, with the most recent one held in Bangkok a few weeks ago, also encouraged fans to dress their best and remember to exchange ‘friendship’ bracelets with each other during the upcoming party.
“One thing about Swifties is that we don’t have to tell them what to do, they would always automatically do this for example the friendship bracelets – everyone is doing it and they would bring their own and exchange it with other Swiftie at the parties.
“It’s honestly one of the best parts about them,” he said.
Aside from Who’s Ur Party, Hafizi also has another sub-brand called Run For Cover, where they often host live bands performing cover songs at showcases around Southeast Asia since 2022.
They are also the team behind the Penang-based music festival Northern Music Festival, which has been around since 2012.
Open to the public aged 21 and above, ‘The Taylor Bachelorette Party: The End of an Era’ is a ticketed event priced at RM80 for pre-sale online tickets and RM100 at the door.
