Sony Philippines marked the 10th anniversary of its 1000X headphone lineup by introducing the new 1000X THE COLLEXION in the Philippines as its latest flagship model.
The 1000X lineup traces its roots to the debut of the MDR-1000X in 2016 and has since built a reputation in the premium personal audio segment. The 1000X THE COLLEXION carries that legacy forward by combining Sony’s latest listening technologies with refined materials and a design intended for everyday use.
As part of the celebration, Sony staged the unveiling through an immersive event that introduced guests to the philosophy behind the new headphones while commemorating the milestone of the 1000X series.
The evening began with a ballet-inspired product reveal that paired music and visual storytelling to introduce the latest model.
Sony executives, led by Shuhei Sugihara, president and managing director of Sony Philippines, and Kentaro Imamura, marketing director of Sony Philippines, welcomed guests and discussed the company’s vision for its newest flagship headphones and its commitment to delivering premium listening experiences.
The evening continued with a live performance by A-Team, alongside a fashion presentation that highlighted the headphones’ luxury-inspired aesthetic. Fashion designer Gian Romano styled the showcase using his signature avant-garde designs, which complemented the premium aesthetic of the 1000X THE COLLEXION.
Sony expanded the discussion beyond product specifications through a panel moderated by Rammy Bitong which explored the relationship between sound and creativity across different industries.
The session brought together fashion designer Rajo Laurel, entrepreneur and lifestyle personality Mika Lagdameo, creative director Daryl Chang, and AGC Power Holdings Corp. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Archie Carrasco. The panelists shared how sound influences their creative thinking, productivity, entrepreneurship, and personal expression while discussing how the new headphones fit into both their professional responsibilities and everyday routines.

Also, during the event, guests explored interactive installations that provided a closer look at the technology behind 1000X THE COLLEXION.
The Tech Showcase Lounge introduced the engineering, design philosophy, and technological innovations incorporated into the headphones to better understand the development process behind Sony’s newest flagship model.
The Soundcapes immersive booth, meanwhile, demonstrated the headphones’ capabilities through synchronized music and visual environments to let guests experience how the device performs across different listening scenarios.

Sony positioned 1000X THE COLLEXION as a product that places equal emphasis on craftsmanship and performance.
The headphones feature premium metal detailing and refined faux leather that underwent two years of development. An ergonomic design supports extended listening sessions, while Black and White color options give the headphones a clean and understated appearance suited for professional and personal settings.
The design also reflects Sony’s effort to pair premium materials with long-wearing comfort, making the headphones suitable for users who spend extended hours listening to music, working remotely, or traveling.
At the core of 1000X THE COLLEXION is a suite of audio technologies that build on Sony’s experience in premium personal listening.
The headphones feature a bespoke driver unit engineered to produce detailed sound across a wide frequency range. Sony also incorporates Edge-AI-powered DSEE Ultimate, which restores compressed digital audio in real time to reproduce greater detail in music files.
The product includes enhanced 360 Reality Audio Upmix technology that expands stereo content into a more immersive listening experience, alongside Sony’s noise cancellation technology designed to minimize external distractions and allow listeners to focus on entertainment or work.
With these technologies at hand, the 1000X THE COLLEXION offers premium headphones for consumers seeking both high-quality audio reproduction and practical features for everyday listening.
Since introducing the MDR-1000X, Sony has expanded the series through successive generations that introduced new advances in wireless audio, noise cancellation, and user comfort.
