PETALING JAYA: Kamil Misuari, the husband of women, family and community development minister Nancy Shukri, died today.
In a statement, Nancy’s office said the Sabahan businessman died in Kuala Lumpur. His body will be brought back to Kuching, Sarawak, tomorrow.
Members of the public may pay their last respects at Nancy’s residence at Taman Serira, Jalan Menggeris, Petra Jaya, tomorrow before he is laid to rest at the Samariang Muslim cemetery.
“Let us all pray that his soul may be placed among the faithful. Al-Fatihah,” said the minister’s office.
Kamil and Nancy married in 1985 and have three children: Faeroz, Farouk and Bibi.
Meanwhile, Sarawak tourism, creative industry and performing arts minister Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said he was saddened by the news of Kamil’s death, describing him as a “very close friend”.
“I hope Nancy and her family stay close during this difficult time.”
