The ProMedia Group (PMG), a Tampa-based audiovisual and technology integration solutions provider, has hired Troy Fernandez as Project Manager, the company announced May 12. Fernandez brings more than two decades of experience managing large-scale design and construction initiatives across multiple continents, a move that signals PMG’s continued growth in the sports and stadium technology sector.
Fernandez previously served as Program Manager at Watchtower in Tuxedo Park, New York, where he oversaw a global portfolio of projects across 30 international offices. As Global Design Director, he led the development of design standards for 84 international branches. His earlier career includes 15 years with AECOM in New York, contributing to major infrastructure projects such as the World Trade Center PATH Terminal and work for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and the Transportation Security Administration.
Fernandez said he was drawn to PMG by the chance to work in new facility types. ‘PMG is involved in a number of exciting projects, especially in the sports and stadium space,’ he said. ‘I’ve spent my career managing residential and commercial work, but this is a chance to be part of something different — to get more hands-on and be on the other side of the process, especially in AV and broadcast environments.’
His project delivery approach emphasizes collaboration and transparency. ‘No matter the size of the project, the fundamentals are the same,’ Fernandez explained. ‘Surround yourself with qualified people, work as a team, and keep everyone aligned toward the end goal. That’s what drives consistent, high-quality results.’
Ken Avis, CEO of The ProMedia Group, highlighted Fernandez’s global experience. ‘Adding someone with this level of global experience and leadership strengthens our ability to deliver exceptional results for our clients,’ Avis said. ‘His expertise in managing complex, multi-site projects aligns perfectly with our commitment to excellence and continued growth.’
In his new role, Fernandez will oversee AV integration projects from design through installation, supporting PMG’s expansion. The company, recognized as one of Tampa Bay’s Best Places to Work, provides tailored AV solutions for commercial clients in healthcare, education, corporate, and government sectors.
Fernandez’s hiring reflects PMG’s ongoing investment in top-tier talent as it continues to grow its services and geographic reach, particularly in the sports and stadium market. His background in bridging gaps between design and construction teams is expected to streamline project execution and strengthen client relationships.
