MEXC does not accept users from 13 jurisdictions named in its User Agreement: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Hong Kong, Mainland China, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, North Korea, Cuba, Iran, Sudan and the Russian-controlled regions of Ukraine, plus countries under comprehensive EU or US sanctions or on the FATF call-for-action list.
MEXC is also winding down its service in the Netherlands, where final offboarding is scheduled for November 16, 2026.
Key Takeaways
MEXC's User Agreement, names 13 restricted jurisdictions, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Malaysia and Kazakhstan.
The same clause excludes any country under comprehensive EU or US OFAC sanctions and any country on the FATF call-for-action list, which named North Korea, Iran and Myanmar in June 2026.
MEXC is winding down in the Netherlands, where users are asked to move assets by October 31, 2026, ahead of final offboarding on November 16, 2026.
MEXC's app availability page does not list India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mainland China, the Philippines, South Korea or the United Kingdom.
Seeing the app in your store does not make you eligible, and accessing MEXC from a restricted jurisdiction breaches the User Agreement, with or without a VPN.
Residents of restricted jurisdictions should use a platform authorised by their own regulator, whose public register is linked in this guide.
To check a specific country, use the quick lookup table below, which follows the Prohibited Jurisdictions clause of the MEXC
User Agreement.
In the table, No means the User Agreement names the country as a Prohibited Jurisdiction, Winding down means MEXC has announced an exit, and Not prohibited, limited means the User Agreement does not exclude the country, but a regulator or the app stores limit access.

Data verified as of October 8, 2026 against the MEXC User Agreement, MEXC's official announcements and support pages, and the regulator and press sources linked in the sections below.
Most of Latin America sits outside the list, and our
Latin America exchange guide confirms that Brazil, Mexico and Argentina are not named, while Cuba is.
Eligibility always starts with the User Agreement, because our
review methodology ranks a platform's terms of service above its marketing pages on questions of availability.
For fees, products and security beyond country eligibility, read our
MEXC review 2026.
Under the MEXC User Agreement (last updated May 29, 2025), MEXC does not provide services in, and does not accept user registrations or trading applications from, the following countries and regions:
North Korea, Cuba, Sudan, Iran, Mainland China, Singapore, Malaysia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, the Russian-controlled regions of Ukraine (currently including Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Sevastopol), and Canada (collectively referred to as "Prohibited Jurisdictions").
The same clause also covers any country or territory subject to comprehensive economic or trade sanctions administered by the EU or the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and any country on the FATF list of high-risk jurisdictions subject to a call for action, which named North Korea, Iran and Myanmar in its
June 2026 update.
For clarity, MEXC may update this list at any time based on legal and compliance considerations.
No, the United States is a Prohibited Jurisdiction, so US residents cannot open or use a MEXC account, whichever app store or website they reach it through.
US residents should use a platform licensed to operate in their state, which they can check on
NMLS Consumer Access.
No, Canada is named in the Prohibited Jurisdictions clause, and the clause names the whole country rather than a single province.
No, the United Kingdom is a Prohibited Jurisdiction, and it does not appear on MEXC's app availability page.
UK residents can look up cryptoasset firms registered with the Financial Conduct Authority for anti-money-laundering purposes through the
FCA's cryptoasset information page.
The FCA expects its full authorisation regime for cryptoasset firms to come into force on October 25, 2027.
Residents of a Prohibited Jurisdiction should use a platform authorised or registered by their own regulator, and each regulator below publishes a free public register you can search before opening an account.
Jurisdiction | Where to check | What the register shows |
United States | | State licences, including money transmitter licences |
Canada | | Platforms authorized to do business with Canadians (last refreshed September 18, 2025) |
United Kingdom | | Firms registered with the FCA for anti-money-laundering purposes |
Singapore | | Licensed institutions, including digital payment token service providers |
Hong Kong | | 13 licensed platform operators (list updated May 29, 2026) |
Malaysia | | Registered operators (list updated July 20, 2026) |
Kazakhstan | | Firms authorised in the Astana International Financial Centre, including digital asset service providers |
Japan | | 27 registered operators (as of September 1, 2026) |
EU and EEA | | Authorised crypto-asset service providers and non-compliant entities |
Registers checked on October 8, 2026.
MEXC's
app availability page, last updated on August 26, 2026, lists the countries and regions where the app can be downloaded, and it does not list these frequently searched markets:
India
Indonesia
Japan
Malaysia (also a Prohibited Jurisdiction)
Mainland China (also a Prohibited Jurisdiction)
The Philippines
South Korea
The United Kingdom (also a Prohibited Jurisdiction)
In most other countries and regions the app is listed in both stores, but a store listing does not override the User Agreement, so residents of a Prohibited Jurisdiction cannot use MEXC even where the app appears in their store.
MEXC service availability is subject to various legal, regulatory, and operational considerations. This list is reviewed and updated periodically.
Outside the 13 Prohibited Jurisdictions, access to MEXC is limited in two ways: MEXC is winding down in the Netherlands, and in the rest of the EEA, Japan, South Korea, India, the Philippines and Indonesia a regulator has flagged MEXC or the market is missing from MEXC's app availability page.
Yes, MEXC is winding down its service for users in the Netherlands, who are asked to move their assets by October 31, 2026, ahead of final offboarding on November 16, 2026, as
reported by Finance Magnates.
The Dutch regulator AFM decided on September 16, 2025 that MEXC was offering crypto-asset services in the Netherlands without the licence MiCA requires, and it published a
consumer warning on September 24, 2025.
Dutch users should treat October 31 as the working deadline rather than waiting for November 16.
The EU and EEA are not on the Prohibited Jurisdictions list, but MEXC holds no authorisation under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA).
EU and EEA readers should use a crypto-asset service provider authorised under MiCA, which the same ESMA register lists.
None of these five countries is a Prohibited Jurisdiction, but none appears on MEXC's app availability page, and in four of them a regulator has named MEXC.
Country | What limits access | Source |
Japan | The Financial Services Agency (FSA) sent warning letters to MEXC Global for operating without registration on March 31, 2023 and November 28, 2024; app not listed
South Korea | Google Play blocked new downloads in late March 2025, and the FSC announced the App Store block on April 11, 2025, as part of action against unregistered overseas exchanges; app not listed
India | FIU-IND named MEXC Global in compliance show-cause notices to nine offshore platforms on December 28, 2023; a MEXC notice of January 26, 2026 said its main website was temporarily unavailable in India; app not listed
Philippines | The SEC named MEXC in an August 2025 advisory on unregistered crypto platforms, and telecom operators began blocking access that month under an NTC order; app not listed
Indonesia | App not listed in Indonesian stores
Data verified as of October 8, 2026.
Residents of these countries should follow their own regulator's guidance, and Japanese residents can check the FSA register of 27 registered operators listed earlier on this page.
Our
Southeast Asia exchange guide covers MEXC's status market by market, including the Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam's Decree 284 rules for local investors.
Some MEXC products add their own country rules on top of the User Agreement, such as the MEXC Global Card, whose eligibility is set out in the
MEXC Card country guide.
Using MEXC from a Prohibited Jurisdiction breaches the User Agreement, and if MEXC determines that a user gave false information about their location or residence, Clause 1 of the agreement allows MEXC to terminate the account immediately and liquidate any open positions.
Clause 4(v): every user represents that they are not resident in, located in, or trying to access MEXC from a prohibited country.
Clause 1: false representations of location or residence can lead to immediate account termination and the liquidation of open positions.
Clause 21: MEXC may freeze an account and the assets in it if it suspects a breach of the agreement.
Clause 1: a user who becomes resident in a Prohibited Jurisdiction undertakes to tell MEXC at the earliest possible opportunity.
A VPN does not change any of this, because it changes your IP address, not your residence or your location.
Tell MEXC as soon as possible, as Clause 1 requires, and plan to withdraw your assets, because the agreement does not allow residents of those countries to keep using the service.
Run three checks in order: confirm your country is not a Prohibited Jurisdiction or covered by the sanctions clause, check for a MEXC exit announcement or a warning from your own regulator, and only then look at whether the app is listed in your store.
Step 1: Read the Prohibited Jurisdictions clause.
Check the 13 named jurisdictions and the sanctions clause in the MEXC User Agreement, because the agreement prevails over any summary, including this one.
Step 2: Check MEXC announcements and your regulator.
Look for a MEXC exit notice for your country and for a warning or register entry from your regulator, as in the Netherlands, Japan or the Philippines.
Step 3: Check the app listing last.
A listed app is not a permission, and a missing app can reflect a store or regulator decision, so the first two checks decide eligibility.
Is MEXC available in the US?
No, the United States is a Prohibited Jurisdiction under the MEXC User Agreement.
US residents should use a platform licensed in their state, which they can check on NMLS Consumer Access.
Is MEXC available in Canada?
No, Canada is named as a Prohibited Jurisdiction, and the restriction covers the whole country.
Canadian residents can use the CSA's list of crypto trading platforms authorized to do business with Canadians.
Is MEXC available in the UK?
No, the United Kingdom is a Prohibited Jurisdiction, and the MEXC app is not listed in UK app stores.
UK residents should use a cryptoasset firm registered with the FCA.
How many countries are on the MEXC restricted countries list?
The User Agreement names 13 Prohibited Jurisdictions, counting the Russian-controlled regions of Ukraine as one entry.
It also excludes any country under comprehensive EU or US OFAC sanctions and any country on the FATF call-for-action list.
Is MEXC available in Malaysia or Kazakhstan?
No, both Malaysia and Kazakhstan are named as Prohibited Jurisdictions in the User Agreement.
The Securities Commission Malaysia also added MEXC Global to its Investor Alert List on September 5, 2022.
Is MEXC leaving the Netherlands?
Yes, MEXC is winding down for Netherlands users, who are asked to move their assets by October 31, 2026.
Final offboarding is scheduled for November 16, 2026.
Is MEXC available in the EU?
EU and EEA countries are not Prohibited Jurisdictions, but MEXC holds no MiCA authorisation and is winding down in the Netherlands.
EU and EEA readers should use a crypto-asset service provider authorised under MiCA.
Can I use MEXC with a VPN from a restricted country?
No, accessing MEXC from a Prohibited Jurisdiction breaches the User Agreement whether or not you use a VPN.
If MEXC finds that a user misrepresented their location, it can terminate the account and liquidate open positions.
Why can't I find the MEXC app in my app store?
MEXC's app availability page does not list markets including India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mainland China, the Philippines, South Korea and the UK, so the app may not appear in your local store.
A store listing does not decide eligibility, which always follows the User Agreement.
This page explains where MEXC accepts users and is not legal or investment advice.
MEXC is not authorised under MiCA, and readers in the EU and EEA, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and the other Prohibited Jurisdictions should use a platform authorised by their local regulator.
Availability can change at any time, and the MEXC User Agreement prevails over this summary.
